No More Excuses!

You know, I hear this all the time, “ I'm lonely, I'm miserable, I don't have any friends, I’m broke…”

Well only YOU can change that. If you enjoy being miserable, sad and lonely then you shouldn't be reading this. If you really want to change, then you actually have to do something! You can continue to find excuses as to why you can't. There are a million! I don't have time, I don't have any money, I'm a stay-at-home mom with 3 kids, I don't know anyone, etc.  OR You can get out from underneath the covers, put that pint of ice cream down and get up off the couch or from in front of your computer (…ok, some of these things require a computer) and do something!

There is so much out there that's free or low-cost that you can do right now, today that's going to get you going. Ladies, if you’re broke go to the mall and get your makeup done. Then, if you like it, go have a drink at a lounge in a nice restaurant. Sit at the bar and strike up a conversation. Pull up YouTube, learn and try a new hairstyle. Listen to a video about something you are interested in. Join Periscope.  Go to and check out what is happening in your town. There are always groups looking for new people to join.  There are many groups, like ones for walking, hiking, kayaking, photography, moms, geeks, gamers.  You name it there is a group for it. Better yet - start one of your own!

Head over to Groupon, Verlocal, LivingSocial or one of my favorites for another local option is Nextdoor. This site is neighborhood driven and has a lot of things going on that you can be a part of. See if there is someone who enjoys doing the same things you do.  This is a great site if you are fairly new to your area.

If you want to feel empowered, take a class on how to change the oil or the tires on your car. Take a finance class.  Learn how to dance.

Volunteer.  Mentor someone.  Join a Facebook group that interests you and start Skyping with people in the group.

If you are looking to meet your next somebody, try speed dating. (I’ve heard these can be a lot of fun) or join a male dominated group.

If you just want to meet other women and make new connections, try a wine and paint class.  I did this once and it was a blast. I had never painted before, but I loved how mine turned out.  I have it displayed on my entry table!  Hint:  if you are going alone sit at the long table so you can interact with others at the table.

Here are some links: - this site you can find a mentor or be one!

So, no more excuses!  Decide that you want to stop being stuck, miserable and sad.

Let me know in the comments below how and what you did!
